Muker, Thwaite, and Keld

Muker, Thwaite and Keld

The head of the dale offers some beautiful as well as more challenging walking. Keld is the crossing point for two of the north of England’s most popular long-distance walks, the Pennine Way and the northern Coast-to-Coast walk. (http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/pennine-way and http://www.wainwright.org.uk/coasttocoast.html ). The Little White Bus service runs up to Keld and the volunteer drivers can often be persuaded to carry cycles from Richmond to facilitate a day’s exploration of the whole dale.
